Rebecca graduated in 2015 from the University of Hawaii at Hilo receiving her Bachelor’s  in Marine Science and Communication. While studying she held several jobs, one of which was a research assistant looking at the amount of calcium carbonate in local sea water and potential threats to local reefs with increasing ocean acidification. She went on to do her thesis on this as well. She gained her Science Diver certification during this time and worked as a sea turtle stranding responder.

Rebecca is a PADI Dive Master and has Nitrox and Drysuit certifications. She enjoys taking her camera with her on every dive. While diving in Laguna Beach, CA, in 2011, her footage of a juvenile Grey Whale went viral and has been used in several programs on Travel Channel and National Geographic.

Rebecca loves science and exploration and hopes to be a channel of communication between the scientific community and the general public. She also loves sharing the underwater world with people and plans to continue photographing and filming what she sees while diving.
